Industry News War Sport is Dead, ZRODelta is Carving a New Path Candice Horner January 15, 2018 Join the Conversation Thanks to ZRODelta, the War Sport brand is dead. War Sport was best known for its LVOA rifle, but few people knew about its top-notch manufacturing capabilities. In-house, War Sport could machine just about anything imaginable and was at one time supplying OEM parts to other manufacturers in the firearms industry. ZRODelta partners, John Birk and Pat Harrigan, took notice of War Sport's undeveloped potential and jumped on the opportunity to carve out a new path for ZRODelta. With the decline of the brand name, it's no surprise that ZRODelta intends to completely dissolve the existence of War Sport. This appears to be a win-win situation for ZRODelta and War Sport enthusiasts. We have been tracking the health of War Sport since SHOT Show 2016, after the company experienced a change in executive leadership. Over the past couple of months, the War Sport Facebook and Twitter accounts have vanished. The Instagram account hasn't had a substantial post since November 26, 2017. When a post, featuring ZRODelta, was shared on the War Sport instagram page we started putting puzzle pieces together by looking into ZRODelta. ZRODelta was previously called Alamo Four Star. ZRODelta is known for making optic mounting systems and muzzle devices. One blaring clue as to what was going on with War Sport, in relation to ZRODelta, is the fact that Clint Walker was involved. Walker founded Nemo Arms and rapidly grew the company before moving onto his next venture. After Nemo Arms, Walker assisted with the growth and direction of Falkor Defense. For the better part of a year, Walker has been popping up in ZRODelta's social media. In a small industry, like the firearms industry, it's easy to spot who influences change– Walker is one of those people. When ZRODelta announced the merge with North Carolina based, Critical Capabilities, we reached out to ZRODelta to see if there was also a link with War Sport, which was also located in North Carolina. CONFIRMED It was confirmed today, that War Sport has been acquired by ZRODelta. John Birk, Pat Harrigan, and Walker verified and elaborated on the plans for War Sport and ZRODelta. Birk said, “Our main focus is quality and innovation.” Harrigan added, “The overall capability and capacity this acquisition has provided is nothing short of incredible. We're going to harness the promise War Sport had and pair it with the principled direction of ZRODelta. By partnering those together, we're going to see continued success.” When asked how the acquisition came to fruition, Birk said, “Being a machinist, when I saw the War Sport Facility, I saw what could be done with the machines they had.” WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD? With the types of machines War Sport owned, manufacturing capabilities are endless. Walker said, “I truly believe we have what many will consider to be the most innovative, disruptive product at SHOT Show this year. I wish I could talk about it more because it's so exciting.” You'll have to wait until SHOT Show to see how ZRODelta will make the leap into manufacturing firearms. This acquisition doesn't mean War Sport customers and retailers will be left high and dry; ZRODelta plans to provide customer support to War Sport consumers. “We recognize that anyone who owns a War Sport rifle is part of ZRODelta's future. We want to continue to take care of War Sport customers,” stated Walker. The assets acquired from War Sport will be used in ZRODelta's Hickory, NC facility. We'll have more information about the happenings of ZRODelta in the next few days and will see the new product Walker was alluding to.
