You may be wondering what Hypalon is? For that we're going to quote Wikipedia to get it right (feel free to read that in a wry tone): Hypalon is a trademark for chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE) synthetic rubber (CSM) noted for its resistance to chemicals, temperature extremes, and ultraviolet light. It was a product of DuPont Performance Elastomers, a subsidiary of DuPont. Along with PVC, CSM is one of the most common materials used to make inflatable boats and folding kayaks. It is also used in roofing materials and as a surface coat material on radomes owing to its radar-transparent quality. Hypalon is also used in the construction of the decking of modern snowshoes, replacing neoprene as a lighter, stronger alternative. Being lightweight, strong, and moisture resistant gives Hypalon some desireable characteristics for outdoor gear/load bearing equipment. Hypalon lends itself well to laser cutting, which is how Whiskey Two Four manufactures these chest rigs. Attaching buckles and shoulder straps is a simple bar tacking operation. Production time is drastically reduced by streamlining the cutting and sewing operations. Different sizes and angles are available. The webbing pattern is compatible with MOLLE/PALS, MALICE clips, and Whiskey Two Fours own WTFix Straps which are also made of Hypalon. The webbing pattern is also compatible with screw and nut fasteners to attach kydex or polymer pouches.
