Win a Chance to Appear in Max Martini’s New Movie and Help Veterans at the Same Time

Late December we reported about Max Martini's film Sgt. Will Gardner and how Max was donating 30% of the profits to three veteran's charities. It was an unprecedented event in movie-making history and a hell of a thing to do for our veterans. For 2019, Max is at it again, only this time with American Airlines Sky Ball 2019 joining in, and you can be a part of the action as well.

Martini is having a lottery offering up four cameo roles with one line of dialogue each in his upcoming movie Sundown.

That's a hell of a lot more talking than I got to do in Sharknado 2!

According to Martini, “Sgt. Will Gardner the movie, Michael Hagerty and I have found a terrific way to raise money for veteran charities and offer the lucky winners a chance of a lifetime! To act in a movie with major stars! Join us, support our cause to help veterans in need and live out the Hollywood dream! God bless the men and women that defend our great nation!  These roles are three regulars in a local country bar and one bartender that push the story forward in a feisty exchange with one of the movie’s leading actors.” The proceeds from the raffle tickets go toward each of these charities.

Sundown will begin filming mid-November 2019 and complete early January 2020. The roles will be scheduled and photographed within those dates. Travel and accommodations are included as part of the prize. Travel is limited to within the United States.

Here is the film's logline:

Jack and his childhood friend, Max, both in their thirties, drive from California to West Texas to track down the father who abandoned Jack’s pregnant mother before Jack was born. They find Jack’s father, tortured by his past, working in the adrenaline-fueled world of rodeo competition. They also meet a fiery woman named Dusty and all hell breaks loose.

It's fun to have even a small part in a movie, but the bigger picture here are the four charities that these efforts are supporting. Each of the charities does tremendous work aiding our veterans who are suffering the most.

The Four charities selected to benefit from the proceeds of the lottery are as follows:

AIRPOWER FOUNDATION – The mission of the Airpower Foundation has grown since its formation in 1999, and is now a nationwide program dedicated to supporting active duty, reserve and National Guard families. Airpower also supports projects to assist wounded, ill or injured service members, children of our fallen military, veterans of previous wars and educational projects to make sure the next generation understands the honor and sacrifice of wearing the cloth of this country.

WARRIORS HEART – Our mission is to heal our nation’s warriors through our private, licensed, and accredited resort-style healing centers. We do this by specializing in substance abuse treatment and co-occurring psychological disorders, with special attention to post-traumatic stress, unresolved grief/loss, and moral injury. Our treatment courses provide the full continuum of care, from detox, inpatient (residential), day treatment, outpatient, sober living, and 1-on-1 counseling. From 9/11 to a 911 phone call, we take care of those who take care of us. Our focus is to serve adult men and women veterans, active duty military, US law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and first responders.

HIGHER GROUND USA – Of the 21 million veterans who live in the US, 1 in 3 suffers from depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other invisible injuries. Our proven approach marries recreational therapy with the powers of the great outdoors to achieve something we call whole-life healing. RECREATIONAL THERAPY – As defined by American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA) and National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC): Recreational therapy, also known as therapeutic recreation, is a systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals with illnesses and/or disabling conditions, as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being. Physical therapy will help you function with mobility. Occupational therapy will help you with your daily living. Recreational therapy helps people get back to being themselves. We can be the glue that holds people together.

GARY SINISE FOUNDATION – At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities. The R.I.S.E. program – Through R.I.S.E., we’re building specially adapted smart homes for our most severely wounded heroes. We’re also providing home modifications, mobility devices, and adapted vehicles to our injured, wounded, ill, and/or aging heroes.
