Featured New: Avidity Arms PD10 Single Stack 9mm Recoil Staff December 14, 2016 Join the Conversation Avidity Arms, a division of Eagle Imports, has revealed the final version of production PD10 markings as they continue to promote their new handgun. Production frames were just recently displayed at this year's NASGW. The PD10 is a polymer framed, DAO semi-auto pistol, designed by firearms instructor, PDN HMFIC and I.C.E. Training founder Rob Pincus. The new handgun was specifically designed as a concealed-carry pistol. It's a made-in-the-USA single stack 9mm with built with what they describe as standard aftermarket and custom features. The NRA's American Rifleman website further described it as having “a practical sight system, a smooth trigger pull, a short accessory rail and a comfortable grip.” We haven't had our hands on it yet, but it looks promising. We're pretty sure this is Ron Perlman on the range recently with one of the first PD10s, but we could be wrong. The Avidity Arms PD10 has a 4 in. barrel, an Ameriglo Luma Glow front sight, an I.C.E.Claw rear sight, and is fed by 10 round 1911 magazines and is rated to handle +P ammunition. Grip and slide are less than an inch wide, though the magazine catch and slide stop make it slightly wider in those locations. It will hit the market with defense-oriented holsters already available, including versions from Crossbreed, PHLster, BLACKHAWK!, CastleBravo and others. That's a nice touch often overlooked by firearms manufacturers — and kudos to Avidity for getting PHLster in that lineup. The PD10 is intended to come from the factory set up to rub, not bite (that's what she said), so it's more comfortable to carry IWB or AIWB. It was also designed with a low slide, putting it down very close to the shooter's hand (close enough to touch the hands). “But if we get this right,” Pincus says, “it won't be cutting them.” You can learn more about Florida-based Avidity Arms on the web right here. How they got to Florida from Eagle's home state of New Jersey we don't now, but we don't blame 'em. They're on the book of face at /avidityPD10/ and on Instagram as well, @AvidityArms. There's no word on a for-sure release date yet.
