Dead Bird Cold Wx Hoody

The Cold Wx Hoody is part of the Dead Bird Cold Weather lineup we saw at SHOT 2016. Like all Arc'teryx gear it was designed with feedback from men and women who require the highest quality technical gear for survival (vs. indulging their fashion sense). These SMEs include members of CANSOFCOM (Canadian Special Operations Forces Command), Emergency Search and Rescue Personnel in remote and rugged locations, experienced mountain guides from around the glove and the gendarmes of the Le Centre National d’Instruction Ski et Alpinisme de la Gendarmerie (to name just a few).

This will be extremely significant to many people. I just like the damn hoody, which should not be mistaken for the thin cotton hoody worn by tens of thousands of sullen teenagers across the continent. This is a Coreloft insulated stand-alone cold weather garment with 2-layers of softshell GORE Windstopper on the outside.

DESIGN:

A windproof cold weather insulated hooded jacket. Exceptionally lightweight Coreloft™ insulation traps warm air next to the body, compresses easily and quickly regains loft. Outer shell blocks wind and sheds precipitation. Articulated in the upper torso and elbows for full range of unrestricted motion.

MATERIALS:

Coreloft 100g (insulation)
15Dx15D ripstop taffeta (lining)

CARE
Machine wash in warm water (30°C).
Do not use fabric softener.
Front load washing machine recommended (use a mesh bag for top loading machines).
Tumble dry on low heat.
Do not iron.
