FN AMERICA ANNOUNCES THEIR NEW FN-15 DMR3 RIFLES — NEW BARREL, TRIGGER, HANDGUARD, CHARGING HANDLE, AND MORE

The third generation in FN’s very popular DMR line of rifles the new DMR3 has some major upgrades and added value over the last generation rifles.

Available in black anodized, FDE Cetakote, or tungsten grey Cerakote the DMR3 is sporting a list of upgrades:

  • 18” cold hammer-forged barrel with a slower 1:8 twist rate (perfect for 62gr to 77gr 5.56 NATO) using FN’s proprietary machine gun steel and chrome-lined
  • Geissele two-stage G2S trigger
  • 14-5/8th aluminum handguard that has the Hodge Defense’s wedge-lock technology for extreme rigidity
  • Radian Raptor-LT ambi-charging handle
  • Radian Talon ambi-safety selector
  • M16-style bolt carrier group with a high-pressure/magnetic particle inspected and certified bolt.
  • FN’s custom furniture includes the ergonomic grip, 6-positon stock, and 30-round magazine.

The lower, muzzle device and gas block are the same as the DMR2 had — a mil-spec forged aluminum lower, the SureFire ProComp, and a pinned rifle-length low-profile non-adjustable gas block.

MSRP for the anodized black DMR3 is only $2,152 while the two Cerakoted models have a slightly higher MSRP of $2,328.

Taken as a package this is a great setup that fills the role of a DMR or RECCE rifle outstandingly well. The 18” barrel gives a small boost in muzzle velocity while the slower twist will be better for stabilizing the most common precision ammo loads.

Ambi-controls are always nice to have and greatly improve handling.

An extremely rigid handguard prevents flexing and allows for more accessories to be securely mounted and helps BUIS or night vision to retain zero.

But my favorite improvement is the move to a Geissele G2S trigger. The G2S is a 2-stage precision trigger with the first stage pulling at 4.25-4.75lbs and the second stage ranging from 2.75-3lbs.

A sharp, crisp trigger helps the rifle be as accurate as it can be and allows the shooter to take full advantage of it.
