SilencerCo is one of the largest names in the suppressor world, and a large part of that is due to their Osprey suppressor line – now being improved with the release of the Osprey 9 2.0 and Osprey 45 2.0!
The first version of the Osprey used a lever for indexing the can on your firearm, this has been replaced on the 2.0 version with what SilencerCo calls the “magic button.”
This new design is a simple but important upgrade to make the suppressor easier to use, easier to index, and more securely mounted to the firearm.
Sadly, the 2.0 update is not compatible with older gen models. Due to the nature of where the ATF requires serialization and the construction of the can, users who send in 1.0 Osprey suppressors will receive repaired units with the lever indexing system and cannot be upgraded to the magic button.
Other than the magi button, the 1.0 and 2.0 versions are effectively the same.
“Our goal is to create the best user experience possible,” said SilencerCo Product Manager, Andrew Herbst. “By simplifying the indexing system on the Osprey, we have taken a top performing product and made it quicker and easier to use.”
