First Look: Zeiss LRP S3 FFP Scope For Long Range Shooting

DIAL DOWN AND REACH OUT – ZEISS SETS A NEW STANDARD FOR TOTAL ELEVATION

NEW from Zeiss comes the LRP S3! A first focal plane riflescope designed for long range precision shooting and hunting.

Packed with features we’ve come to expect from high-end scopes like advanced glass, daytime visible illuminated reticle, zero stop, and externally locking windage turret.

The new Zeiss S3 comes in two flavors; 425-50 and 636-56. Both are available in either milliradian (MRAD) or minute-of-angle (MOA) configurations with 0.1 MOA or 0.25 MOA click turrets. The MOA version uses the ZF-MOAi reticle, while the MRAD version uses a ZF-MRi reticle.

Something shocking that sets the S3 apart from the market is the amount of elevation adjustment both models have.

The 425-50 model has 46.5 MILs (160 MOA) of elevation adjustment, and the 636-56 has 32 MILS (110 MOA).

This translates to the shooter being able to dial elevation out to incredible distances. By our math, the S3 425-50 should allow for 6.5 Creedmoor to be dialed to around 1,600 yards without the use of canted scope bases.

While max elevation adjustment isn’t the defining characteristic of a scope, we’re excited to see how the S3 might impact ELR shooting for centerfire and rimfire competition.

Unexpectedly, the MSRP for the S3 425-50 is only $2,200, putting it at the lower end of prices for high-end optics.

The ZEISS LRP S3 425-50 and 636-56 will be available at ‘Authorized ZEISS Retailers’ beginning early October 2022 for the North America markets and April 2023 for all other markets.

Complete specs and more information can be found on Zeiss’s website.
