Four heroic U.S. military dogs will receive top honors recognizing their extraordinary valor and service to their country in an inaugural national awards ceremony on Capitol Hill. The awards will be presented by three of the nation’s foremost military leaders under the aegis of American Humane Association, which has worked with the U.S. military and military animals for 100 years.WHO:

General Robert B. Neller, Commandant of the United States Marine Corps
First Sgt. Matt Eversmann, hero of Mogadishu and “Black Hawk Down”
USMC Col. Scott Campbell, Commanding Officer of the Wounded Warrior Regiment in Quantico, Virginia
