Friday Night Gun Porn – JJFU Nomad AR-15

Jesse James Firearms Unlimited is the eponymous firearms company created at the end of last year by a motorcycle design and manufacturer phenom whose name needs little introduction here. Jesse James (featured just a little while back in RECOIL) jumped into the Black Rifle business with 21 years of CNC machining experience. This ultimately led to the Nomad AR-15. The majority of the firearm components are developed in-house at JJFU, in Dripping Springs, Texas. They also integrate some distinct AR-15 parts from specialized ‘furniture' manufacturers.

The Nomad is, as you can see, a handsome shooter.

Says RECOIL editor Iain Harrison,

“When Jesse James introduced his first ARs to the market last year, they were – shall we say – different. Since then, the design has evolved into something decidedly more practical and in this case features the best single stage trigger we've ever experienced on an AR15. The Nomad seen here is radically styled, highly specced work of art which incorporates James' own designs in its handguard, brake, pistol grip and receivers. If we were to make an analogy to the bike world – if you want cheap performance, you go buy a 5 year old Gixxer and outrun just about everything on the roads. But if you want to turn heads then a custom V twin is the way to go.”

JJFU utilizes a Needle Bearing 2-Stage Trigger, Nickle Boron Bolt Carrier Group, JJFU Skelly Pistol Grip, and JJFU Muzzle Brake. The Nomad is available in multiple configurations, including an AR-15 Pistol, and in various finishes. Rifles are equipped with a 16” midlength Chrome Lined, Match Grade barrels with 1 in 8 twist rifling and 7075 Aluminum Receivers. Throw on a Vortex Riflescope along with some backup iron sights and you are good to go. Check out the full offering  of AR-15 firearms as well as a 1911 pistol selection from Jesse James at JJFU.com. You can see some “before” pictures on the JJFU Facebook page, and take a look at his 1911s while you're there. Before that, though, take a few more looks at the Nomad.

Keep an eye on RECOILweb. You may see some pictures and read the background of first ever JJFU Full Damascus Cisco 1911, which was nearly a year in the making.
