Learn More If you have heard about the Geissele rifle giveaways at SHOT Show, you know that they draw one hell of a crowd. When one of these rifles comes up for sale, it almost always sells for an exorbitant amount of money due to the non-availability. In a late night stream, Bill Geissele announced the new Super Duty LE line of rifles while running through the 2019 product line. Sorry folks, no civilian sales yet. Bill says that he knows they can't handle the demand of the consumer without serious supply issues. Never fear though, Bill says that civilian sales of rifles should be open in the late spring or early summer. Bill is very passionate about giving back to law enforcement and in an effort to give back to public servants, he ensured that the Super Duty LE rifles were affordable with an MSRP of $750. There are two catches, you have to prove that you are law enforcement officer and the only option you get is fixed or folding sights. We spoke with our Geissele insider about what to expect from the Super Duty LE before the live stream. It was stressed that the Super Duty LE was not a SWAT rifle; instead, it was built with a focus on patrol use. Here are the un-official specs we have now: Geissele Super Duty marked lower Geissele upper receiver Geissele #1 lower parts kits with a Posi-Lock selector ALG ACT Trigger A2 grip Magpul CTR stock Mil-Spec buffer tube Geissele Super 42 buffer spring H1 buffer 13.25″ ALG V2 Handguard with blue line detail Button rifled 16″ 1/7 twist “premium grade” barrel Geissele Super Gas Block with “Bomb Proof” installation Proprietary “Midlength Plus” gas system (slightly longer than midlength) A2 flash hider Geissele “Fiddle Proof” iron sights (Fixed or folding) Mil-Spec charging handle Mil-Spec BCG with upgraded extractor & spring So what about the consumer Super Duty rifles coming later in 2019? The consumer line of Super Duty rifles will be very configurable with the entire Geissele product line. No official word on what the MSRP of the consumer rifle will start at but information RECOIL obtained from a source at Geissele indicates they might start in the $1,300 range. Keep in mind, that starting price is not official. In the live stream, Bill pointed out that the consumer Super Duty rifles will have an exclusive Lightning Bow trigger. As mentioned previously, the rifles are entirely configurable so that you will be able to build the Geissele rifle of your dreams. Was this the only big news to come from Geissele this SHOT season? We don't think so. When we acquired the specs for the Super Duty LE, we were told that nearly every part on the rifle was being built in-house. Could Geissele be even building their own barrels? We won't know until SHOT Show, but there seems to be a dang good possibility that they are. Make sure to check out Geissele's website for more information about the Super Duty line of rifles as it's made live.
