Latest ADM UIC-10A Pre-Production Prototypes

American Defense Manufacturing (ADM) has striven (with much success) to establish a reputation for building high quality rifles with great attention to detail and conscientious upgrades. We showcased the full featured 5.56 ADM UIC (Universal Improved Carbine) in issue 15 and appreciated the high craftsmanship; naturally we when we heard a .308 version (the UIC-10A) was announced at SHOT this last January, we began looking forward to the full production models.

While what you see here isn't quite the full production model, they are apparently the last of the prototypes. Production models will reportedly be very close–we're reliably advised these are demo guns that have been tested extensively and otherwise had the crap kicked out of them.

Here's what ADM has to say about them:

Carrying over the same intuitive, highly functional true ambidextrous controls found on the 5.56/.300BLK line of UICs, the UIC-10A will be a versatile, reliable, high quality, high value option for an end user looking for a beefier caliber.

Our 16″ guns have a rifle length gas system that when paired with the ADM HD Buffer, will make for a very smooth reliable system. These rifle will be capable of consistent sub-MOA groups at 100yds with match grade ammo and a competent shooter.

After talking with ADM, we learned some more about the UIC-10A's. While we don't have every detail, and no doubt some things may change before full production, here are the highlights:
The UIC-10A will be available in several barrel lengths and gas systems
-14.5″ with mid-length gas system
-16″ with rifle length gas system, in two different barrel profiles
-18″
-20″ chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor (at a later date)

The barrels are 416 stainless steel, 1:10 twist, and nitrided for corrosion resistance. They are manufactured by Criterion Barrels Inc, which is local to ADM, and is also an OEM manufacturer for several companies. The handguards will be available in three types: ADM's Low Light, keymod, and M-LOK, and in several lengths.

We're told the controls are slightly improved relative to the 5.56 line, to include a redesigned bolt catch and ambidextrous magazine release lever. These features no doubt will make their way down to the .300blk and 5.56 line in the future. The UIC-10A also features the shorter 60° ambidextrous skeletonized selector and ADM trigger.

Final cost is still TBD but we're told below $3,000. Anticipated release date for the UIC-10A is 4th quarter 2015. In the meantime, you can check out ADM at their homepage here, or follow them on Instagram and Facebook.
