Featured Magpul Expands Drum Mag Line to CZ Scorpion and Glock-Based PCCs Rob Curtis January 17, 2020 Join the Conversation Magpul just announced a couple of additions to its D-50 drum mag lineup. The first one needs no explanation. Since the first Magpul D50 came out, guys have been asking for a D-50 for the CZ Scorpion EVO. Wish: granted. The second, the Glock drum will benefit from some explanation. While it's a got a Glock compatible chute, the D-50 GL9-PCC is designed for use in Glock compatible pistol caliber carbines. You'll notice the mag tube is shorter on it than the mag tube of a regular Glock mag. There were a couple of reasons Magpul did this; one, the mag catch on a glock pistol won't support the weight of a 50-round drum. So, rather then fielding calls from pissed-off Glock 19 owners about worn out mag catches, Magpul opted to take the poka-yoke route and make sure you couldn't stick the thing in a Glock pistol magwell. The other reason, is that the shorter mag tube looks way cooler in a PCC. Magpul didn't rule out working on an enhanced mag catch for Glock pistols and a version of the GL9 with a Glock pistol length mag tube, but it's not a front burner issue for them at the moment.
