He discusses how he came to some of the opinions he has, his experiences during some of specialized operations during his career, his philosophy on training mindset and many other aspects of being a prepared, trained and educated gun owner. (Note: the Practical Tactical Podcast is worth checking on regularly, by the way, and not just because of Matt). Note: if you're interested in training with Victory First, there is a class coming up fast at the Tango Down range in West Virginia. Details are here; as of this morning there were a few slots left. Because this is the first time in many months Matt has been able to break away from his industry consulting efforts (and because he spent a few months convalescing after a major surgery to fix a line of duty injury) there may be a few “big names” from the firearms industry in attendance. That's not the primary reason you should consider taking the course, so we're clear – you should consider taking it because it's unique and it's invaluable. I was privileged to attend the inaugural Victory First course last year and I can attest to the quality of instruction. That was my first opportunity to spend any time around Jacques. Since then I've come to know him as one of the most humble, down-to-earth, passionate and pragmatic instructors I've ever met — and he is damn dangerous. This is the Victory First class registration page. If you ever carry a gun in a concealed position, on duty or off, you should consider training with Victory First. Just don't play Dejarik with Matt, unless you plan on letting him win.
