Nikon Becomes Title Sponsor of the National Rifle League

Yesterday, Nikon announced it will be the first Title Sponsor of the National Rifle League (NRL). For the 2018 season, the NRL Presented by Nikon will host 16 precision rifle matches. The first match is scheduled for February 23-25, 2018 and the final match of the season, the NRL Presented by Nikon Championship, is October 19-21, 2018.

At SHOT Show, Nikon released several products that will position the company favorably among all types of shooters from tactical to long range to hunting. This title sponsorship shows how serious Nikon is in supporting the shooting sports and in gaining exposure for its new products.

In the official press release from Nikon, the company said:

Nikon celebrated its 100th Year Anniversary in 2017 with the introduction of its flagship BLACK precision optics line and has more than doubled the size of the line for 2018. The new BLACK FX1000 match grade FFP riflescope and BLACK RANGEX 4K 4,000 yard rangefinder-combined with the NRL Title Sponsorship-demonstrate Nikon's commitment to the competitive shooting sports.

According to Nikon's Sr. Manager; SRO Sales & Operations, Jeremy Bentham, “Nikon is proud to be partnering with the NRL for 2018 and we are looking forward to working to promote the sport together.” The NRL is recognized for its support of competitive rifle shooting and of the athletes who are participants.

The NRL is a 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to enable growth in the competitive shooting sports. NRL precision rifle matches are typically shot over the course of two days. Competitors can use either a bolt action or semi-auto rifle of any caliber between .224 to .308- not exceeding 3200 fps. Most points are gained on targets between 300 to 700 yards, but targets at further distances are the norm for precision long range matches.
