Propper Emphasizes Discreet Collections For LE and Civilians in 2018

Propper pushes a street tactical approach with its 2018 apparel lineup, headlining some new series in addition to expanding on some old.

The company kicked off day one of SHOT Show with a spruced-up booth packed with clothes and gear. David Workman, Content Marketing Manager for Propper, told RECOIL that 2018 brings in a new collection focus for the publication.

“Idea for 2018 is that we’re going to have entire collections, not just a pants or a shirt separately, but a head to toe kind of look to it,” Workman said.

The highlight of the collection is the HLX, or Hybrid Lightweight Crossover. The premiere line, due out Summer 2018, features a discreet look that ticks all the boxes in the tactical community while still remaining semi-wearable off-duty.

“It can be used for either uniform or off duty or plain clothes,” Workman explained. “It’s a very versatile look, very versatile design.”

The HLX Collection will include a men’s and women’s pant and woven long sleeve and short sleeve shirts, in addition to a women’s polo. (Men’s polo to follow at some point in the ambiguous future.) The pant features streamline pockets and a gusseted crotch area with stretch panel for better range of motion.

Also new this year is the Rev-Tac collection. With long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts as well as pant’s, the Rev-Tac series is currently available for both men and women. Powered by what Workman said was the success of its Kinetic line, the Rev-Tac delivers a lightweight tactical fit and function. In addition to the HLX, Propper expands its Kinetic line offering a sweeping suite of styles in varying colors that keep to the street- yet tactical theme.

Finishing up some of the more notable apparel is the ANSI III Reversible Jacket. The jacket can perform the old switcheroo, providing a high-vis yellow design with reflective tape on one side and a discreet black or LAPD Navy on the other. Workman said the jacket cuts down on LE gear with its two-in-one approach.

“The idea is that the officer will wear it with the navy or black on the outside on a regular basis and the reflective side is all but hidden, you can only see a little bit of it around the hood,” Workman said. “If he’s going out on patrol all he has to do is switch it out and turn the sleeves inside out and it’s ready to go. So it’s one jacket for everything he needs.”

Propper says the ANSI, Rev-Tac and Kinetic lines can all be snagged now, with the HLX gracing consumers with its presence later this year.
