Learn More Primary Weapons Systems brought their new Mark I Alpha series rifles to Triggrcon. Designed for military solicitation contracts, the Mark I Alpha is available in two variants, the MK110 Alpha and MK114 Alpha which are a 10.5″ and 14.5″ length model respectively. Of course, the MK114 does feature a pinned and welded flash hider. Diverging from their traditional twist rate of 1 in 8, PWS chose to use a 1 in 7 twist rate in order to stabilize heavy bullets. PWS also redesigned the handguard attachment system to be more robust than prior designs, resulting in increased rigidity. In order to ensure that there is less movement in the rail as it heats up from being shot, PWS opted to use steel plates and screws to sandwich the aluminum of the rail. The result is a mounting system that does not shift with the increase in temperature. The gas system adjustment is now located in front of the rail, no longer requiring the user to have an adjustment tool. Adjustments can be made using a flat head screw driver or the lug of the bolt. The Mark I Alphas come finished in a rather attractive FDE anodizing. The lowers themselves have ambidextrous controls, a flared magazine well, and are finished off with PWS's ratcheting castle nut and enhanced buffer tube. The guns also feature Radian Weapons charging handles and safety selectors. If you’re in the Seattle area, TriggrCon is open to the public this weekend, July 28-29, 2018.
