It's what Hawaii is known for… sun-drenched beaches, masses enjoying the tropical weather, a cold drink in hand, and being waited on hand and foot while exerting as little effort as possible. Well, screw that. At Carnivore, we show you the REAL Hawaii when we join RECOIL's Editor in Chief, Iain Harrison, as he travels to the big island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for a hunting and fishing trip like no other.
Iain joins up with local knife forger Neil Kamamura, who will be forging the blades used in this expedition, and Danny Bolton, a local bowhunter whose family has owned land in Hawaii ranging across a wide variety of tropical flora. And speaking of flora, Iain also links up with Flora Kamamura, an expert Gaucho Chef who will take a combination of the fare collected in the field, everything from beautiful fresh fish to feral sheep and hogs, combine it with other locally sourced ingredients, and bring it to the table in brilliant fashion, designed to make your mouth water, and your taste buds dance.
Set in Hawaii’s very rainy but beautiful landscape, watch as Hawaii and Brazil become one in a beautiful outdoor kitchen where Flora Kamamura creates more than food– she creates an experience. From the forge, to the field and ocean, all the way to the table, join Carnivore as we show you true hunting… island style.
