Craig “Chili” Palmer of the SIG SAUER Academy explains the fundamentals of “junkyard prone.” During a gunfight, you may have to use a vehicle as cover and firearms support. However, minimizing your exposure is key. Chili walks us through the proper ways to cant and hold your rifle all while keeping yourself from being a sitting duck. Hand placement, sling position, slope of the vehicle's hood, and a host of other factors all play into recoil management and accuracy.
