Guns Rugged Suppressors Lightens The Load With Micro30 Industry News December 3, 2017 Join the Conversation Written by Jacki Billings Rugged Suppressors brings down the knife on the latest addition to its suppressor lineup, offering a shorter and lighter can in the Micro30. The belt-fed rated Micro30 serves calibers 7.62 up to .300 RUM. In its standard configuration, the can measures 6.5-inches in length; but its shorty version shaves off over an inch, reducing its size to merely 5-inches. Weighing15-ounces in standard and 11-ounces in short, the Micro30 relies on what Rugged Suppressors terms “ADAPT Modular Technology” to lighten the load. According to Rugged Suppressors, ADAPT Modular Technology grants the Micro the ability to be swapped from short to standard in just seconds — no heavy machinery required. Users twist off the end cap on the Micro30 using the included end cap tool. The main tube is threaded, allowing the ADAPT module to simply twist on. Once in place, the end cap is placed onto the ADAPT module and voila. The can is ready to run. To swap back to the short configuration, shooters reverse the process. The Micro30 boasts a 17-4 PH stainless steel design with Cerakote finish. Equipped with Stellite Core baffles, the company says the suppressor comes in under 140dB but has not released official readings. The suppressor is outfitted with interchangeable front caps with both 7.62 and 5.56 caps available. In addition, the device offers a dual taper lock mounting system designed to provide a “solid lockup between the suppressor and muzzle device.” “We strategically place the engraving on the thickest cross section of the 17-4 stainless steel mount for fast and easy replacement should the suppressor become damaged beyond repair. It also serves to make the Micro infinitely upgradable in the future,” Rugged Suppressors said in a statement. In the box, consumers will find the Micro30, ADAPT module, 7.62 R3 flash hider with 5/8×24 thread pitch, 7.62 front cap, end cap tool, obligatory owner’s manual, and logo sticker (c’mon who doesn’t like stickers). All-in-all the Micro30 system runs $1,049. Keep in mind, cans are regulated under the National Firearms Act so tack on an additional $200 for the tax stamp and a few months wait time.
