Speer Adds .223 & .308 Options To Total Metal Jacket Bullet Line

Speer has announced the addition of new Total Metal Jacket bullets in .223 and .308. The .223 bullet is being offered in a 55-grain weight and the .308 bullet is being offered in the traditional 150-grain weight.

Total Metal Jacket bullets totally cover the lead core without leaving an exposed base that can reduce the bullet's accuracy abilities under a couple of hundred yards due to aerodynamic problems with the addition of a bit of jacket to cover the base of the bullet.

Speer says that the new bullets will come in 100 count boxes

The new bullets will come in 100 count boxes with an MSRP of $16.95 for the .223 and $21.95 for the .308 bullets. You can find more information on the Speer website

More from Speer:

LEWISTON, Idaho – – Speer Bullets offers new calibers of Total Metal Jacket (TMJ) rifle bullets for reloaders. Standard FMJ bullets sacrifice accuracy by adding a separate piece of jacket to cover the bullet base—or leave exposed lead. Speer TMJ bullets, however, totally encapsulate the lead core for cleaner, more accurate performance. Handloaders now have two new TMJ rifle bullet options to choose from—a 55-grain 224 cal. and a 150-grain 308 cal. Shipments of these new reloading components are being delivered to dealers now.
