Traveling frequently sucks, and for more than one reason. One of them is hauling all your crap around, then parceling it into smaller loads of crap and carting that around. If you're tired of lugging around multiple bags or paying out the nose for what often turn out to be sub-par products, Away claims they have created the perfect solution. Enter, the Carry-On.
Here’s what they tell us about it.
GET THERE WITH ONE PIECE
Meet the perfect carry-on. Ours is crafted from premium German polycarbonate, famed for its durability, flexibility, and ultralight weight. The interior features a patent-pending compression system, removable laundry bag, and a high-capacity battery with USB charging. Four 360° spinner wheels guarantee a smooth ride.
Featuring a category-leading 38L capacity, weight of 7.2 lbs, and sized to fit on major airlines at 21.7” x 13.7” x 9”.
- OUR SIZE FITS ALL
Designed to comply with most major airlines' regulations at _21.7” H x 13.7” W x 9” D. Custom inset wheels offer 10% more packing space.
- POWERED UP
A removable interior 10,000 mAh battery and two USB ports let multiple devices charge at once. Wall adapter and luggage-charging cable are included
- BUILT FOR LIFE
The hardshell exterior is made of 100% Bayer Makrolon polycarbonate, a material unrivaled in strength and impact resistance. And it’s so light, the entire bag weighs in at only 7.2 lbs
- LOCK IT DOWN
We built a TSA-approved combination lock into the top of your bag—the zippers slot right in, so no one’s getting into your stuff but you (and the TSA)
- STRONG FINISH
Topped off with luxurious touches like premium interior mesh, YKK zippers, 360° Hinomoto double-wheel spinners, and a leather luggage tag.
If you want one of these for your very own, it will set you back $225.00 US.
Jen Rubio and Steph Korey created this luggage out of desperation, according to an interview in December 2015 by Sarah Purkrabek for Afar. They'd been traveling extensively and were tired of paying exorbitant monies for products that just wouldn’t hold up — so they decided to fix the problem themselves.
