The “Trigger Glove”; new from Velocity Systems

Virginia based manufacturer Velocity Systems, the company that designs and builds tactical gear “At the Speed of Need” has announced they'll soon be releasing their new “Trigger Glove.” The shooting gloves are made with Pittard's leather (an advanced leather used in many styles of sports and fashion gloves, as well as footwear) on the palm and a Merino Wool/Nylon blend on the back. Initial reports have it that they allow for excellent manual dexterity, and although it's too early to tell what sort of durability they'll deliver Velocity Systems has an excellent reputation for extremely well made (Berry Amendment compliant, incidentally) gear.

Gear Scout, the Military Times equipment channel, likens the Trigger Gloves to an improved version of the ubiquitous Nomex flight gloves so many military personnel wear.

“Nomex flight gloves are popular with ground pounders for many reasons. First, they’re in the system and pretty easy to get. Second, they offer just enough protection to prevent minor scrapes, cuts and burns that would otherwist distract you without causing a major loss of dexterity. But, they barely take the sting out of touching cold metal, do nothing to keep you warm when they get wet, and they fall apart when exposed to a barely a couple weeks worth of sweat and hard use. Velocity Systems took a long look at what guys like about the issued Nomex flight glove and addressed every shortcoming with their new Trigger Glove…The result is a wonder of dexterity that improves on the beloved Nomex Flight Glove in key areas, namely durability and comfort.”

You will be able to purchase the gloves as early as tomorrow on the Velocity Systems web store or via one of their distributors. No word at this point as to what color options or exact MSRP will be – we'll advise (and we'll provide a review after putting them through their paces).
