Valhalla Tactical Rukh: Why Didn’t We Think Of This?

The Valhalla Tactical Rukh is quite possibly the coolest single accessory on the floor of SHOT 2020. Sure, it is just an offset Trijicon RMR mount, but once you start looking closer at the mount you see why it is so damned cool.

Pretty much everyone on the planet hates the process of changing batteries on an RMR, but it has been the gold standard in the MRDS market so we all deal with taking our dot off, swapping the battery, then replacing it on the mount.

The guys over at Valhalla Tactical also hate that process, so they came up with a solution so damned smart that it makes our head hurt. The New Rukh mount is still in the prototype phase, but they have already opened preorders up for the offset mount.

Made entirely from Grade 5 titanium, the Valhalla Tactical Rukh felt pretty light in our calibrated hands. Once we get one in our hot little hands we will be sure to chuck it on a scale to get a weight.

Specs:

  • Pivot body allows the backup optic to rest as close, or as far, to the primary optic.
  • Grade 5 Titanium provides maximum strength.
  • Interchangeable base plates to adapt to different optics.
  • User-replaceable towers can convert mount to any optic height.
  • Completely reversible for right or left-handed shooters.
  • RMR base plate includes removable cover for accessing the battery.

*Additional base plates for T1, Docter, ACRO, etc. will be available separately in a few weeks.

Not only can you swap batteries without taking your RMR off, but you also have the ability to store a second battery in the mount to replace a failed battery in the field.

Making the mount even cooler, Valhalla built in the ability to adjust the cant of the optic for a couple of reasons. First, when you turn your wrist to switch from your primary magnified optic to the secondary non-magnified optic, the angle of your wrist isn't the same as the angle of my wrist. Now you can set that angle to make switching to your non-magnified a more natural movement.

Secondly, being able to change the angle of the optic mount allows you to get the RMR as close to the optic as possible if you choose to do so.

You will also be able to choose between a co-witness mount as well as a 1.93″ height mount by unscrewing the base from the arm. This also allows you to swap out the mounting plate making the Rukh future proof.

Currently, preorders for the Valhalla Tactical are set at $224.96 for the Rukh with the arm height of your choice. The only finish currently available is raw titanium, but there are more potentially on the table. Valhalla says that they will be offering bases for T1, Docter, ACRO, and others soon.
