Tom Vehr isn't new to the trigger game. In fact, he has been in the trigger business for over 30 years and left a big name in triggers a while back to form Velocity Triggers. His mission? Build quality triggers that any shooter could afford. Their newest trigger, the Velocity Triggers MPC AR-15 trigger, was on display at NRAAM and we were able to give it a quick look.

Something that is becoming a trend in the trigger market is swappable trigger shoes so that a shooter can tailor the trigger feel to their preferences. With PRS Gas Gun becoming more and more popular, lighter single stage triggers with interchangeable shoes are in high demand with those that prefer a non-traditional shoe.

Since the founder of Velocity Triggers has been in this business for some time, it was easy for him to make design changes to the trigger for an improved overall experience. One of the changes that excited us most was the shorter hammer spring legs. If you have ever installed a trigger that looks a lot like the Velocity MPC trigger, you know that the spring legs normally cover the set screw holes making install more of a pain than it should be.

Tom also designed the Sentinal trigger guard to work in conjunction with the MPC AR-15 trigger. The holes or slot that is milled into the bottom of the trigger guard is designed to allow you to change the trigger shoe without removing your trigger guard. He also designed the trigger guard to use three screws instead of the more typical roll pin install to prevent trigger guard ears from cracking.

Trigger 3

The trigger shoes for the MPC AR-15 trigger are held in place with a single hex screw. The trigger shoe design allows you to cant the face of the trigger to correspond to the face of your trigger finger if you prefer or you can square it up like most traditional triggers on the market.

Trigger 4

While Velocity Triggers didn't have a shoe on display with the more traditional curved option not installed for the photo below, they do have one available if that is your jam. They offer a bevy of colors in either flat with a finger stop, flat without a finger stop, or the elusive curved option.

Check out the Velocity Triggers website, MSRP on the MPC trigger is $189.95, the replacement trigger shoes are $14.95, and the Sentinal trigger guard is $17.95.
