Venator watches (@venatorwatches) are designed and built in the USA, and they seem to be built like a tank. Talking to Venator's HFMIC Jason Taras and his crew, they described the Venatoras crafted for “Maximum RAR.” That's Reliability, Accuracy, and Readability. There will be numerous styles available, including 3 face colors and 3 finishes to start with. Venator watches (Venator is Latin for Hunter by the way) use heavy duty Torx Lug Bars instead of the more traditional spring bars and then either Titanium or 216L stainless steel for the case. The crystal is AR-coated sapphire. The face of the reticle model is built to look like — wait for it — a reticle and they're water resistant to 200m.
The initial run has been divvied up among assorted outdoor enthusiasts, LEOs and military SOF guys for review and torture testing over the last several months. Apparently there will be a few floating around Media Day at the range tomorrow and on the main floor of the show beginning Tuesday. If I can steal the one AJ Lafferty is wearing get a closer look at one we will post more pictures.
Face colors will include black, dark green and navy blue, finishes will be PVD, stainless and Titanium.

The NSSF SHOT Show (Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show) and Conference is an annual event held by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Typically attended by thousands of people from all 50 states and over a hundred countries, it is (quite rightfully) described as the “…world's premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, and related products and services.
Imagine the Worlds' Fair, but packed with everything from mini-guns and every breed of body armor, bows and boots; from eye pro and ear pro to optics and ordnance, socks to swords…you get the idea. If you'd like to see a sampling of the companies who will be showing at this year's SHOT, there's a live map right here, though it doesn't reflect the organizations set up elsewhere, in hotel suites, etc
