Gear New Metal FOMI Style Clip From Discreet Carry Concepts Patrick Roberts January 3, 2020 Join the Conversation At RECOIL, we review every product fairly and without bias. Learn More Discreet Carry Concepts has long been a staple of my EDC holsters for good reason, they offer the lowest profile belt attachment while still providing a very stable and positive interface with a proper gun belt. Imagine my excitement when I saw they were making a metal FOMI style clip replacement that could breathe life into some of my more outdated holsters. You might recognize the DCC clip style if you have seen our coverage of the Tenicor MALUS SOL or the SAGAX LUX. Heck, I like DCC's clips so much I even added Mod 4 clips to the Bawidimann Gotham holster I recently reviewed. In fact, I make it a point to fit them to every holster I use and generally don't use a holster not capable of running them. Nearly every IWB holster in the author's stable is fitted with DCC clips. Even though the crown jewel of the DCC line is still the overhook style clip like the Mod 4 clips, there was still a hole in their lineup. The new DCC Monoblock clip is designed as a replacement for poor-performing plastic belt clips like the very popular FOMI style clip. The DCC Monoblock clip replaces FOMI style belt clips like the one found on this Hater Holsters IWB for Hi Points. The new DCC Monoblock clip won't start shipping to holster makers and consumers until sometime early February 2020. Discreet Carry Concepts hasn't officially released pricing at this time but a source says they are targeting under $6 dollars per clip retail price. The new DCC Monoblock clip installed on an M2 Tactical holster. Keep an eye on the Discreet Carry Concepts website for the new Monoblock clip to drop. In the meantime, if you want to upgrade a holster that uses clips like the Raven Concealment overhooks you can find their full line on the DCC web store. More from Discreet Carry Concepts: Having no equal in the “entry level” class of holster attachments and beyond, we would like to introduce the DCC Monoblock HLR Discreet Gear Clip™, our featured industry interruption for 2020 and what will become the gold performance standard to replace the low performing yet widely circulated top mount style attachments. Low cost should not equal a poor performing product. Features: Developed, tested and manufactured in the USA by DCC Enormous value. High performance/cost ratio. (Pricing and distribution info to be released soon) Our standard DCC non-corrosive/non-reflective DMG/Cu finish Monoblock design with two individual legs that act independently of each other to increase performance and reliability (think of a dual tire setup on a truck). Works with or without a belt. Dual horizontal slots .885” – 1.15” on center. Material: standard 1050 steel. Capability increased using an intelligent heat treat process to achieve the desired microstructure to help maximize the durability, ductility and performance of the monoblock’s robust design. About the Author Patrick primarily focuses his range time on sharpening his pistol shooting skill but effectively using precision rifles and carbines are also skills he works on polishing as best he can. When he isn't writing, spending far too much time on the range, maintaining his website, or filming a video he spends his time with his wife, son, and his dog.
