CZ Scorpion: Upgrade Buyers Guide Part 2

The CZ Scorpion has seen unprecedented support by manufacturers, end-users and gun enthusiasts alike. So much that the company announced recently all remaining supply had sold out. Try finding one at your local dealer, it has become increasingly challenging to. Earlier this year, we published a buyers guide for the CZ Scorpion  EVO 3 S1 and in a short couple of months the options have increased exponentially that we are adding a part two. I'm not going to spew a bunch of love fest accolades for the Scorpion. I will just recommend you get out and try one, or even buy one if you can find it. I enjoy mine and hope to add a couple more this coming year to the stable. Let's get to the nitty-gritty of Part Two where we feature the latest and greatest upgrades for the Scorpion. Remember also to keep your eyes peeled for the 2016 edition Scorpion slated to hit the market in March. The updated version has a slew of new features including standard 1/2-28 threads on the muzzle end. YETI WURKS Yeti Wurks offers two different direct replacement grips named the Everest and Matterhorn. Constructed of high quality nylon 12, these grips are a vast improvement over the factory and as a plus, counts towards your 922r compliance. MSRP is $60. SHOOTERS ELEMENT Shooters Element brought to the table a new 6061 CNC'd trigger shoe that not only provides a smoother trigger pull with a slight reduction in felt pull, but looks good too. Each trigger comes with a new retaining screw as well as a trigger roll pin. Available in Red or Black with an MSRP $47.99 GEAR HEAD WORKS These guys are working on quite a few new releases for the Scorpion, some of which are still in the development phase. I will stick to what is available now. Gear Head Works designed an improved magazine release giving you an MP5 style paddle underneath the trigger-guard that can easily be activated from either side of the weapon. Very fast and efficient. Made from anodized 6061 aluminum. MSRP is $39.75

MANTICORE ARMS Manticore has several Scorpion offering covered in Part 1. What is new? How about a 3-lug suppressor muzzle adapter for those who run the MP5 Navy style adapter on their silencer. MSRP is $49.95 HB INDUSTRIES Another repeat from our first artice, HBI has stepped up the game with several new products. First is their new drop-in replacement Theta forward trigger shoe. The Theta provides a +5mm forward position that provides increased leverage over the factory trigger. The increased leverage is said to reduce the trigger pull weight by about 12%. Theta triggers are machined from 6061 billet aluminum and available in black or red. Made in the USA and counts towards 922R compliance. MSRP is $34.95 Another new products from HBU is a trigger spring kit providing a 6lb trigger pull (down from 9.0+ lbs factory trigger). MSRP is $8.95 HBI is taking orders on their new drop-in replacement extended charging handle. The extended handle provides a larger control handle for charging the weapon and is ambidextrous compatible. Machined from 6061T6 aluminum and hard coat anodized to MIL-A-8625. The charging rod is machined from precision ground 17-4 PH stainless steel. MSRP is $64.95 PARKER  MOUNTAIN MACHINE PMM makes killer shit for several of my favorite platforms, the SCAR, PS90 and more, so why not the Scorpion? I cannot stand the factory Scorpion sling attachments. PMM was genius enough to come up with a way to incorporate a front and rear QD stud into the factory housing without any modifications. That is pretty impressive on its own. MSRP is $24.95 PMM introduced earlier this year a new set of selector levers for  CZ Scorpion. The levers are available in two sizes that gives the shooter the choice of using what is best suited to their liking. CNC'd out of 6061 aluminum and hard-coated per military standards. The PMM Scorpion EVO 3 S1 SSL is a low cost and effective way of improving the operating functions of your Scorpion. MSRP is $18.00 Special thanks to Whiskey Alpha photography for helping with some last minute photos since our Scorpion is torn down for some renovations.
